Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update November 13th 2020

Notice for Restricting All Visitors

Atrium is acutely aware that the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) is an escalating global health concern.  Atrium is fully committed to maintaining all services critical to the welfare of our residents, their families and visitors to our facility.  We continue to receive regular updates and advisories from public health agencies, understanding that information is ever-changing and evolving as more is learned about COVID-19. Older adults and people who have severe chronic medical conditions like heart, lung or kidney disease are at increased risk for developing a serious illness or even death if they become infected with COVID-19 or the influenza virus. Therefore, we are taking steps to reduce the potential for the spread of such infections, including increased frequency of cleaning with emphasis on highly touched areas, close monitoring of respiratory symptoms and visitor and staff screening.

As the number of positive COVID-19 cases have increased throughout the country, we continue to work hard to protect our patients and our employees from this virus.  Until further notice we will be restricting all visitors and non-essential health personnel in our communities.   We also are highly discouraging any leaves from our patients other than to the hospital.  Recent CDC information has indicated that one of the ways that the virus has been spreading recently is from family gatherings.  We do not want to put our patients or employees at any risk. We remain hopeful that this will be short lived and that a vaccine will be released in the near future.

Visitors will be allowed for certain compassionate care situations, such as an end-of-life situation. In those cases, visitors will be limited to a specific room. Please contact the administrator to make an appointment to enter the facility for compassionate care situations (e.g., end-of-life care).  You will be required to perform hand hygiene and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as facemasks. Decisions about visitation during an end of life situation will be made on a case by case basis.  The process for each determination will include careful screening of each visitor (including clergy, bereavement counselors, etc.) for fever or respiratory symptoms. If you have symptoms of a respiratory infection (fever, cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat) you will not be permitted to enter the facility at any time (even in end-of-life situations). Please frequently perform hand hygiene and refrain from physical contact with residents and others while in the facility and wear your face mask at all times. Please practice social distances with no hand-shaking, hugging, and remaining six feet apart.

Visitors, and any individuals who enter the facility (e.g., hospice staff), need to monitor themselves for signs and symptoms of respiratory infection for at least 14 days after exiting the facility. If symptoms occur, please self-isolate at home, contact your healthcare provider, and immediately notify the facility of the date you were in the facility, the individuals you were in contact with, and the locations within the facility you visited.

We understand these circumstances may be inconvenient, but it is for everyone’s safety that we take these active steps to reduce the potential for the spread of infections to keep our residents, staff, and visitors safe.  We encourage you to keep in touch with your loved one via phone or Skype. If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact the administrator of the facility and they will be happy to assist you.  We hope that these restrictions will be short lived and will keep you updated as circumstances change.  Be aware that you may receive more calls from the facility during this time so please make sure that your contact information has been updated.

Small Town Feel With World Class Care

The small Village of Frederic was originally a logging town. The local forests are filled with pine trees and hardwoods, and the farms are filled with crop land. These elements, along with many lakes, create the charming country setting for Frederic Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. Our surroundings help our quality culture flourish as our staff members provide thoughtful and exceptional healthcare services in a safe, clean, and friendly environment.

Frederic Nursing and Rehabilitation Community is proud to be the home of residents as well as a gathering place for friends and family. The Village of Frederic provides a great location for outings to the local parklands and lakes, and it boasts a wonderful arts and cultural community. Through carefully created activities based on their well-being and needs, our residents feel independent and secure.

Our Community Features

Frederic Nursing and Rehabilitation Community is a 50-bed residence on an eighteen-hole golf course. A patio with raised flower beds and seating area overlooks the ninth hole. It is a location where residents spend time with family and friends. A wheelchair accessible swing is also available. With the help of our activity department, residents may plant vegetables in one of the raised planters, and everyone shows a lot of pride when adding these veggies into their home-cooked meals.

Our Community Services

Frederic Nursing and Rehabilitation Community is a skilled nursing community offering 24-hour nursing care and comprehensive rehabilitation therapy. Our community accepts admissions every day of the week for both short-term rehabilitative or long-term stays. In addition, we offer advanced wound care treatments supervised by a certified wound nurse, intravenous therapy, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, respite stays and hospice care. Our services help restore the quality of life to our residents and enable them to reach the highest level of independence possible.

The Right Choice

Choosing the right nursing center can be a difficult decision for the potential resident and family. We understand the emotional process of placement and strive to help with the adjustment for both the resident and his or her family.
