Our Community is Your Home for Healing
Founded in 1807, Tallmadge is the second oldest city in Summit County. Situated on a hillside in a quiet neighborhood, just one mile south of the historic and New England-esque Tallmadge Circle, Essex Healthcare of Tallmadge has been providing thoughtful and exceptional healthcare services since 1976.
Essex Healthcare of Tallmadge, a 2011 National Quality Award Winner, is proud that our community serves as our residents’ home as well as a gathering place or family and friends. We reflect a welcoming atmosphere that is displayed by our staff members and throughout the local communities.
Our Community Features
Essex Healthcare of Tallmadge is a 135-bed residence. A long circular driveway leads to our large, one-story brick and white clapboard, colonial-style building, and a covered veranda overlooks the parkland in the valley below. Residents enjoy year-round social activities through visits and events to the two neighborhood shopping plazas, nearby country parklands and the county fairgrounds.
Certified Skilled Nursing, Rehabilitation and Alzheimer's Services
Essex Healthcare of Tallmadge is a Medicare and Medicaid certified skilled nursing community that delivers short-term and long-term health care services. Our rehabilitation department provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy to residents recovering from prosthetic replacements, strokes and clinically complex medical conditions. Our skilled nursing services include advanced wound care, intravenous therapy, and total parenteral nutrition and dialysis services. We are the only community in the Tallmadge area to provide Alzheimer’s and dementia care in a secure unit. In addition, we offer hospice, palliative and respite care. Our services help restore the quality of life to our residents and enable them to reach the highest level of independence possible.
The Right Choice
Choosing the right nursing center can be a difficult decision for the potential resident and family. We understand the emotional process of placement and strive to help with the adjustment for both the resident and his or her family. In fact, many of our staff members have had relatives and friends choose our center because of our family atmosphere and quality nursing care services.
